A grand old 1400 seater theater located in Dorchester, Boston, the Strand was a focal performing arts space for large scale Gospel concerts, Vietnamese shows, and youth programming. Experiencing difficulty in raising funds for improvements, ekTEK was hired to revamp the operation systems to increase efficiency and decrease running costs. This involved implementing a modern box-office system and repurposing unused square footage to become functional office space to improve event production process. These improvement helped attract the very first production of a now beloved Boston show, The Urban Nutcracker. ekTEK also supervised a holistic intern program that provided technical training to young teens while also gaining assistance for larger events.
ekTEK became a major advocate for the Strand Theatre to be managed by the city to undergo a major fundamental construction. The theater still functions at a high level today attracting companies such as Boston Ballet on a regular basis.
